The same 15 mm curled PE yarn used in our permanent putting greens delivers a true roll regardless of what lies underneath. The curled fiber texture keeps the ball from skidding on hard sub-surfaces like concrete or plywood.

Temporary Surface Design
Portable putting greens solve a specific problem: how do you give a golfer a true-rolling practice surface in a location that was never designed for golf? Hotel balconies, convention center floors, corporate lobbies, tournament hospitality tents — none of these venues allow permanent installation.
The answer is a turf mat engineered for repeated handling. Relyir’s portable putting green uses the same 15 mm curled PE yarn as our permanent systems, but the backing is designed to flex through hundreds of roll-up and unroll cycles without delaminating. The reinforced PP + mesh construction holds its shape even when the mat is carried, stored vertically or stacked.
Surface consistency comes from the curled yarn texture. On hard sub-surfaces like concrete or tile, a straight-fiber mat lets the ball skid unpredictably. The curl creates micro-resistance that keeps the ball rolling on top of the fibers, delivering the same pace you would expect from a well-maintained green.
Customization turns a practice mat into a branded experience. For corporate events and golf academies, we tuft logos and brand colors directly into the surface using our CNC cutting and multi-color tufting capability. The result is a seamless, integrated design — not a printed decal that peels off after one use.
Common portable configurations include 2 × 3 m single-hole mats, 3 × 6 m multi-break mats with three cup positions, and custom shapes designed to fit specific event layouts. Edge finishing options include bound edges for clean handling and weighted perimeter strips that keep the mat flat without taping.

Setup Guide
Portable putting greens require no construction. The setup process is designed for one person to complete in under ten minutes.
Any level, hard surface works — concrete patio, wooden deck, indoor floor, compacted soil. Sweep away debris and ensure the area is free of bumps that could affect ball roll.
Unroll the mat and let it relax for a few minutes. If the mat was stored tightly rolled, walk the surface or use a light roller to flatten any curl memory from storage.
Drop the cup inserts into the pre-cut holes. Standard golf cup diameter (108 mm) fits regulation flagsticks. Optional weighted cup bases keep the cups stable on hard surfaces.
For outdoor use on windy days, secure the perimeter with double-sided tape or weighted edge strips. Indoors, the mat’s own weight is usually sufficient to stay in place.
After use, brush off sand and debris, roll the mat from one end with the fiber face inward, and store in a dry location. A carry bag or protective sleeve extends the mat’s life during transport and prevents edge damage.
The UV-stabilized PE fibers handle outdoor sun exposure during events. For long-term outdoor placement, the optional PU backing coating provides additional moisture resistance. Indoor storage between uses maximizes the mat’s service life.
Any flat, hard surface — concrete, wood decking, tile, compacted soil, asphalt. The curled yarn texture compensates for minor surface imperfections. Avoid placing on loose gravel or thick carpet, which can create uneven spots under the mat.
Weight depends on dimensions. A 2 × 3 m mat weighs roughly 15–20 kg; a 3 × 6 m mat runs 45–55 kg. The mat rolls into a manageable bundle that one or two people can carry. We provide weight specifications with every quotation.

The fiber surface is identical — same 15 mm curled PE yarn. The difference is that a permanent green has sand infill and a shaped base for undulation, while a portable mat lies flat on a hard surface. The ball roll is true and consistent, but you will not get slope breaks unless you place the mat on a graded surface.
With regular use and proper storage, a Relyir portable putting green maintains its playing surface for 8–12 years. The UV-stabilized fibers resist fading during outdoor events, and the reinforced backing handles repeated rolling without delaminating.
