Relyir’s landscaping series covers all of these with models ranging from 10 mm balcony and pool-deck turf to 60 mm lush garden-lawn turf. The sweet spot for most residential lawns is 30–37 mm — tall enough to look natural, short enough to resist flattening under regular foot traffic.
Color matters more than most buyers expect. A two-tone blade with contrasting thatch (the shorter, curly fibers at the base) creates the visual depth that makes synthetic turf look like a real lawn. Several of our landscape ranges include multiple thatch color options to match the visual character of natural grass in your region.
Installation on residential sites is typically simpler than commercial projects. Most residential lawns can be installed over a compacted aggregate base with a geotextile weed barrier, requiring no specialized equipment beyond standard landscaping tools. Sand infill (2–5 kg/m²) adds weight and helps keep fibers upright.

Residential Installation
Residential artificial grass installation is a manageable project for professional landscapers and experienced DIY homeowners alike. Most residential lawns are completed in one to three days.
Excavate the existing grass and topsoil to a depth of 60–100 mm. This creates the space for the base layer and ensures the finished turf sits flush with surrounding paving and edging.
Fill with crushed aggregate and compact to a firm, level surface with a slight slope for drainage. Lay geotextile weed barrier over the compacted base.
Roll out the turf, allow it to relax, trim to fit, and seam adjacent rolls with adhesive and seam tape. Secure the perimeter with nails or edge adhesive. Cut around existing features like trees and drainage covers.
Apply silica sand infill (3–5 kg/m²) and brush it into the pile. The sand adds weight, holds fibers upright and improves the natural appearance of the lawn.
Residential artificial grass needs minimal maintenance. Brush the surface monthly with a stiff broom or power brush to keep fibers upright. Remove leaves and debris promptly to prevent organic buildup. Rinse pet areas with water as needed.
An annual sand top-up and deep brush keeps the lawn looking fresh. With this basic maintenance, the turf maintains its appearance and performance for 10–15 years.
